Without a doubt that this BMW i8 Concept car is hot, beauty, and sexy, after spotting it and seeing it with our own eyes at 2012 Detroit Auto show. It’s really hard to take our eyes off and move on to the next one when we were at the show.
The only sad thing about this BMW i8 Concept is the power! I was kinda shocked when the guy announced that this concept car will only produce 349horsepower (I was expecting more, like 500HP+ ) and has an overall weight of 1480kg, the equivalent to a power to weight ratio of 236 horsepower per 1000 kilograms. They also says the i8 runs 0 to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds and a has a fuel consumption of 80 mpg.
The BMW i8 Concept combines the advantages of two different drive systems. One is an electric motor and an internal combustion engine. The electric motor is not a secondary power source, but rather an equal partner of the internal combustion engine. Initially revealed with a diesel engine, the major change for production models is a new 1.5 liter petrol engine. The engine is mounted at the rear and drives via a dual-clutch gearbox.
In these photos below you will see that the doors are see-through pretty cool huh!?! Now it’s your turn to share your thoughts below!
