What do you get when you combine the running gear of the high-performance Nissan GT-R sports car with the nimble proportions of the Nissan Juke small crossover? Some very lucky drivers are about to find out, because Nissan has decided to offer a production version of the Juke-R concept to a very limited number of customers.

And unlike the original show vehicle, which relied on the underpinning of the 2010 GT-R, the production models will leverage all of “Godzilla’s” updates for the 2012 model year. That includes its includes its 545-hp turbocharged V6 engine—the concept had to make do with only 480 horses. Sales of the Juke-R are an unexpected outcome of the car’s stunning debut at the Dubai Auto Show earlier this year.

“The Juke-R was originally intended as a one-off concept to marry two of Nissan’s most innovative models,” according to Gareth Dunsmore, a global marketing manager for the Juke. “But the reaction we had to the car in Dubai was amazing—people were making offers for the original on the street!”

Dunsmore is speaking literally, too, since Nissan has received two firm orders for the Juke-R “from a high-profile and well-respected member of Dubai society,” and also has a third reservation in hand as well.

“With such a strong reaction, and with three genuine offers on the table, we decided we had to make the car a reality,” added Dunsmore. “We can’t let down enthusiasts who are this keen to add to their collection of cars. The Juke-R has become something of a phenomenon and I’m enormously proud of the impact it has had. There will be more news to come on Juke later in the year.”

Sources currently peg the Juke-R’s price tag at about $600,000, with a likely production run of no more than 25 units, and that means most folks won’t be seeing a Juke-R in their driveways anytime soon; however, you can see it in action now against some of the world’s most outlandish supercars.
