Over the weekend Mercedes managed to break the Guinness World Record for the longest drift. The drifting prize was brought home by driver Mauro Calo on 19 June while driving a Mercedes C63 AMG sedan.
The previous record was set at 394 meters, and Mauro simply smashed it. He managed to drift his C63 AMG a total distance of 2308 meters. The event took place on the Handling Circuit at Mercedes-Benz World, Weybridge Surrey. Mauro drifted his Mercedes C63 AMG for almost 8 laps around a complete 360 degree circle of tarmac.
The 2011 Mercedes C63 AMG, which he used to break the Drifting Guinness World Record, is powered by a 6208 cc V8 engine developing 457 hp and 600 Nm of torque.
