Introducing Honda’s latest electric marvel, the Honda Fit EV. Officially revealed at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, this 100% electric Fit features cutting edge technology like a 20kWh lithium-ion battery, three driving modes and a smart phone app to keep tabs on your battery’s state of charge.
Sometimes you’re zipping around town running errands, other times you’re slogging through traffic on the way to work. But either way, you never have to burn a single drop of gasoline. With an estimated 123 city miles to play with, the Honda Fit EV has more than enough range to handle the kind of urban excursions the car was designed for. Charging a depleted battery can take as little as three hours using a 240-volt circuit. And now that charging stations have become more commonplace, you could top off the battery and get your shopping done at the same time.
The Honda Fit EV will be available for lease in select California and Oregon markets next summer and is expected to expand to six East Coast markets in early 2013. The Fit EV’s Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price is $36,625. A monthly lease payment is estimated around $399.
