Honda Urban SUV Concept

The Honda Urban SUV Concept has made its world debut at the recent 2013 Detroit Motor Show. Based on the Japanese automaker’s explanation, its styling that contains clean, the taut lines and the “hidden” rear door handles become clues at a really new small SUV which will be revealed at the end of the year in Japan and in the year of 2014 in North America.

It will come in 4,300 mm (about 169.3 inch) in length; so that it makes this new small SUV comes 23 cm (9 inch) shorter than the previous compact CR-V. Additionally, this car is based on the great Global Compact Series platform that contains the Jazz or Fit subcompact hatchback and also the City saloon which is sold in abroad markets and will employ the fuel-efficient “Earth Dreams” powerplants from Honda.

Meanwhile, Honda has said that the production version of the new and Honda Urban SUV concept will contain “a more modern and great interior and next-generation telematics”. In addition, it will also employ the Fit’s center-fuel tank layout and the “Magic Seat” flexible rear-seat set-up which will let for many settings based on the passenger and the load needs.

This production model will be built at the Honda’s new plant near Celaya in Mexico. And it is scheduled to start the operations in the spring of the next 2014 long with an annual capacity of 200,000 units. Check out the gallery below for the details.
