The basic car started off as a standard- spec Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe. The finished product has resulted into nothing short of insane. Even as the world is slowly coming to terms with high fuel prices, folks at Brabus aren’t exactly thinking about better fuel economy in their cars. The new car they showcased at the Geneva motor show has no less than twelve screaming cylinders.
The total capacity of the V12 is 6.3 litres and is the same unit that powers the mighty Mercedes-Benz S600 limousine. Minor tweaks that have been made to the powerplant include a longer stroke and a bigger bore. The pistons have had to be larger as a result are a made out of a single forged hunk of steel. The twin-turbocharged V12 motor churns out 800 horsepower and a mountain of torque, 1,420 Nm to be precise.
As with any other Brabus, the exterior of the car is finished in matte black and a go-faster bodykit that oozes attitude. All this added grunt and the special paint job do come at a price though. The Brabus Bullit Coupe costs over half a million dollars. That said, thanks to its humongous engine, it does go like stink. It completes the dash to 62 mph from standstill in 3.7 seconds and can reach a top speed in excess of 230 mph!
So, it has got a lot in terms of power and performance. However, it isn’t a car for the fainthearted. It does take serious courage to take this precision German bullet to its top whack and I’m sure there are a more than few among us who would be dying to get into the seat of the Brabus Bullit Coupe.
