For those drag racers that wanted a Cobra Jet Mustang but either couldn’t afford it or wanted to run their own drive train combination, Ford Racing is offering an alternate solution – the 2012 Mustang Competition Roller. Using many of the proven components of the Cobra Jet, the Mustang Competition Roller is sold without an engine and transmission to allow customers to choose their own NHRA-approved combination such as Ford Racing’s pushrod 352, 428, or 3-valve 4.6L V8. Just 25 2012 Mustang Competition Rollers will be built, all in Winner White, at a price of $49,995. Production will start in the beginning of April, with a Ford Racing part #M-FR500-CJROLLW.
