It’s been a while since RUF unveiled a new tuning kit, but they have now come to the lime light at the Geneva Motor Show with the RT 12 R based on the Porsche 911. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo Boxer engine received a nice power upgrade to 730 PS and 940 Nm of torque.
A stunning gold and yellow paint job with black contrasting parts were used. The engine puts down the power through the six-speed manual transmission to the all-wheel-drive system. An optional rear-wheel-drive setting is available, but who would want to use that? The top speed for the RUF RT12 R is 370 km/h (230 mph), while the sports car weighs in at only 1495 kg (3295 lbs). Several carbon fiber parts make up the exterior styling, and we have the complete list after the jump.
RUF has detailed the Porsche 911 racer with new carbon parts consisting of a new rear spoiler, bonnet, front mudguards, and an optional roof. The doors on the RT 12 R are made of lightweight aluminum, while the windows were replaced with plastic pieces to save extra weight. Forged aluminum wheels round out the RUF Porsche 911 package, measuring 19×9 up front, and 19×12 at the rear. These come wrapped in high performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, sizes 245/35 ZR 19 and 325/30 ZR 19 respectively.
A brake job was completed with 380 mm discs at the front, and 350 mm plates at the rear. Inside the Porsche tuning package you will find typical race car modifications, including carbon fiber bucket seats and a roll cage built into the headliner. Pricing for the RT12 R RUF kit is €279,000, and that’s the price before taxes.
